SUMMARY : Conducts audits for all POS sale terminals, verifies accuracy of information, posts summary information into accounting system. Fills orders for currency and coins, and counts and records cash deposits in vault of Jay Peak Resort by performing the following duties.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
  • Counts currency, coins, and checks received for deposit in vault from business or branch bank.
  • Totals currency and checks to verify amount on deposit slip or other form.
  • Prepares appropriate back up for all deposits.
  • Balances cash and petty cash daily.
  • Prepares Operating Banks.
  • Verifies all incoming fills of cash to the vault for ATMs or other purposes.
  • Assist internal customers with change order requests, petty cash requests, and ticket stock.
  • Audits closeouts of all terminals in POS software for proper recording of transactions.
  • Finalizes all cash drawers after audit has been done.
  • Performs daily settlement of all credit card batches.
  • Accumulates all transaction information in POS and posts electronically by day into accounting software.
  • Totals currency and checks to verify amount on POS closeouts from each cashier.
  • Investigates and follows up on all credit card charge backs.
  • Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures.
  • Prepares and submits audit findings and makes recommendations to management, and directs users of POS systems.
  • Performs any other vault cashier or POS duty as assigned by their supervisor.

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office application experience.


    Ability to learn cashier and Point-of-sale duties quickly. Being flexible in multi-tasking, or assuming new assigned duties.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually very moderate.


    This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
