We are seeking a Merchandising Assistant for our Apparel division who will contribute to our tradition of exceptional customer service, while supporting the merchandising team to ensure our future success in developing products of the highest quality. This position will provide assistance for the merchandising team in the overall apparel assortment building process across all selling channels. The position will also interface with Product Development and Design, Planning, Production, Sourcing, Marketing and Creative. It is an individual contributor role and does not involve supervision of other Associates. This is a non-exempt/ hourly position.This position is based in our Home Office in Sunderland, Vermont. Our Vermont location isa dog-friendly office, so you may have a few 4-legged office mates as well. Orvis Dogs at WorkWhat you will be working on:Maintain merchandising calendars and keep group on-task for meeting accountabilitiesAttend all Catalog Build Meetings and accurately create and maintain the Merchandising Assortment and Line Review FilesLoad all items for each Catalog in the I series (AS400) IMP systemSend out information on changes made to the assortment via a daily Master Change SheetPreparation for Line Reviews and all product presentations have all samples, swatches and tech packs available in page order. Provide appropriate handouts for presentation meetings.Review copy for catalog and digital; responsible for follow up on catalog proofing questions at Catalog Walk-thru meetingsAct as point person with other departments, especially Creative and Planning teamsHow we will measure success:Evaluation will be based on Success Rate % in meeting various Merchandising deadlinesSkills and experience that will be important in this role:Team Player who can interact with many other departments and be willing to take the initiative to complete a projectProven experience building partnerships and cooperation across multiple departmentsExceptional attention to detail and strong follow-upAbility to anticipate and meet deadlines and to work on multiple projectsMotivation to understand the Product Development processInterest in the retail industry; previous corporate retail experience is a plusProven Microsoft Word and Excel skillsTwo-year degree in related business field, or equivalent professional experienceAbout Orvis:In 1856, Charles F.
